Creative Internship
We are thrilled to be hosting a cohort of Supported Interns from North Hertfordshire College for the second year (2024-25), for a unique Creative Internship.
This year's interns are: Sam Ashcroft, Terry Denyer, Zion George, James King, Connor Lightfoot, Tan Mverechena and Scott Sanders. They work with and are supported by mentors, who are previous interns and students at the College, including Kyle Bonner, Chloe Candler, CJ Ezeife, Oliver Skewis, Anson Vijayakumar and more!
Over the course of their year with J7C, the students develop and explore their individual creative practice, which takes many wonderful forms - just see some of their artworks below! They learn about and get hands-on experience with all aspects involved with running Junction 7 Creatives: from displaying and selling art, to project planning, to welcoming people into our community art space, to putting on all kinds of events and activities. It all culminates in the incredible Urban Arts Festival, which will take place again for the second year on 3rd May 2025 on Event Island!
This year, the interns took on and ran a creative space of their very own, in the form of two stalls at Stevenage Indoor Market. From November to March, they were based there making artworks, displaying and selling their wares, and interacting with visitors to the Market. Big thanks to Stevenage Borough Council for making this space at the Market available this year.

The interns would love to meet you and tell you more about everything they've been getting up to! Come and see them at Urban Arts Festival on 3rd May 2025!
