This was an epic day and the first event of its kind in Stevenage Town Centre...the inaugural URBAN ARTS FESTIVAL - returning for another year on Event Island, Stevenage on Saturday 3rd May 2025!

 

The whole event was imagined and run by our cohort of brilliant Supported Interns from North Herts College, working with Junction 7 Creatives and Stevenage Borough Council throughout the year.

Skateboarders of all ages and abilities took to ramps made especially by DRIIFT...

 

Urban Arts Merchandise was on sale, designed by our interns, alongside their own brands Kyle's Customs and Chlobo...

 

Artists & designers Caroline Nelson and Linda Chambers created a stunning fasion walkabout, bringing some flair and style to Event Island with their beautiful African-inspired outfits...

 

We had 8 HOURS of live music, featuring: rappers Vincenzo and DL; singers Ellie Bullen-Ryner, and S.Y.N. and Nicole Hey, courtesy of Venues Possible; the incredibly talented young voices of Everybody Loves Music; extreme metal from Extreme Death Art; plus powerful tribal beats from DJ Lady Nelson to close us out....

 

We got ourselves moving with a flashmob and street dance from LJ Dance...

We had J7C artists painting enormous canvases dotted around Event Island, plus the amazing, enormous BOTTLEMAN sculpture - made entirely out of plastic bottles by Trevor Herbert - suspended over us from a lampost...
